Getting Started with Chitika on Typepad Pro

TypePad Setup (Pro Account):

  1. Sign in to your TypePad Pro account and select the "Weblogs" tab. Please note that these instructions are for Typepad Pro accounts (NOT Basic account -- apparently Typepad does not allow editing the template for Basic accounts). If you are on Typepad Basic or Plus, Please refer to “Getting Started with Typepad Basic or Plus”.


     
  2. Click "Edit Design" from the sidebar on right

  1. Make sure you are using an advanced template. If not, you must convert it:

    1. Click "Manage Your Designs."

    2. Select your current template design and click "Convert to Advanced." Select "Yes, Convert" from the pop-up window.

    3. Click "Apply Design" next to the "[Advanced]" version of your template.


 



 

  1. Click "Create new template module" 

  2. Give the template a unique name (something like “entry-archive-minimall”)

  3. Download the code for the template (typepad.txt - Right-click and select "save as"), copy all the text, and paste it in the “Template Body” box.

  4. Paste your generated Chitika code in between the following tags that say:

<!-- insert your Chitika ad code between here -->

  1. Save the template.

  2. Select "Individual Archives" from the Select a Template to Edit menu.

  3. Locate the following line of code:

<$MTWeblogIncludeModule module="entry-archive"$>


11. Replace the line with the following code:

<$MTInclude module="whatever you named your template"$>

12. Save and re-publish your blog.

>13. Enjoy your new Chitika ad!
